and I can agree with getting a laugh from his rants. :-) Water is soluble in alcohol, so tanks that are opened frequently, or have open vents (not modern evap systems) can end up with water in the tank that will corrode the tank. In the case of a DD tank in a production car, which is having the fuel cycled regularly and is not having moist air recycled into it, there shouldn't be a problem. That race tank was probably put away clean, so it stayed clean
